About The Happy Expatsand why we created this guide
Hi, I’m Simon, founder of The Happy Expats.
In my corporate career, I worked for many years in Dutch organisations, including leadership roles. I know the Dutch workplace from the inside.
Over time, I started coaching more and more professionals with an international background. People who were capable, motivated and ambitious and still felt they had to work harder than others to find their place.
Not because they lacked skills.
But because the rules weren’t always clear.
Together with my colleague Abigael, an experienced coach and team facilitator who lived and worked abroad herself, I started The Happy Expats.
Today, we work with a team of coaches, team coaches and trainers who understand Dutch workplaces and multicultural dynamics. We support professionals, leaders and teams who want to:
work effectively
grow consciously
and feel more at home, at work and beyond
This guide reflects how we look at work, culture and development.
